The Great Life Celebration Checklist

April 18th, 2014

Here is a super-helpful, unbelievably thorough checklist to help you plan your Great Life Celebration!

STEP 1. MORE GREAT LIFE?

There are lots of Great Life festivities going on over the weekend in addition to the celebration. Check out the retreat if you’d like to get in on all the action.

STEP 2. SCHEDULE

Circle the dates! April 18th, 2015 from 8:00pm till midnight.

STEP 3. LOCATION

Our celebration location = the spectacular & legendary Banff Springs Hotel in the Banff National Park.

The address is : 405 Spray Ave Banff, Alberta, Canada

Here’s a map.

We have secured a fantastic rate for all Great Lifers to stay at the hotel {more on that in a sec.}.

Here’s a handy map of the Banff Springs. You are welcome to download it and print off. Or, of course, there will be one waiting for you when you check in.

You can find our celebration space by going up the elevators and getting off on Mezzanine 2. Turn left, go through Riverview Hall and walk straight ahead until you come to the Cascade Ballroom and the Conservatory.

STEP 4. TRAVEL

FLIGHT

Fly into Calgary International Airport (YYC) on Friday April 25, 2014. Aim to arrive early in the day if you can {or early in the week if you want some extra time in beautiful Banff}.

Fly out of Calgary International Airport (YYC) on Sunday April 27, 2014. Aim to fly out later in the evening so you have plenty of time to get to the airport {or, if you’re in the mood for communing with nature, stay a few extra days to explore Banff}.

SHUTTLE, TAXI, LIMO, CAR RENTAL

Click here for all the details of how to travel from Calgary to Banff.

If you’re trying to budget, plan for $55.00 — $350 depending on what mode of transportation you choose.

DRIVING

Follow Highway#1 for approximately 1-hour until you reach the Banff National Park entrance gates. The gates are open 24-hours & there’s a park fee of $9 per person per day.

Once you have passed through the park gates, continue driving West for approximately 10 minutes until you reach the first exit to Banff (noted as Banff/ Minnewanka Loop).

Once you have taken the Banff exit, turn left at the stop sign onto Banff Avenue and continue straight. You will drive through the town of Banff until you reach the Bow River Bridge. Cross the bridge and at its end turn left onto Spray Avenue and stay to the left on this road until you reach its end at which the Fairmont Banff Springs is located.

PARKING

The hotel’s parking is located beside the Convention Center.

  • Self-parking :: $25 CAD/night, with unlimited access
  • Valet service :: $35 CAD/night, with unlimited access

STEP 5. MAKE YOUR HOTEL RESERVATION

If you would like to stay the night, the Banff Springs has offered all Great Lifers a really great rate of $209.00 for the Fairmont Room {normally $450.00}. These rates are “subject to availability” — which basically means that if you procrastinate too long there might not be any rooms left. Last year, someone has to stay at another hotel because every single room was booked — true story. So, chop chop! On March 19th our excellent rate of $209.00 pops up to $450.00.

Just in case you would like to upgrade we do have special rates for other rooms but they are not reserved for us, so I would suggest giving them a call right away to ensure you get the room you want.

Say you are with the Gemma Stone International Group.

The Banff Springs has a service charge of $12 per person to cover portage, housekeeping, and conference services. For each extra person over and above two adults sharing a room per night they charge $30.

Book your room by calling 1-866-540-4406

Done & done!

STEP 6. PACK YOUR STUFF.

Banff in April is gorgeous in a magical end-of-winter sort of way. You can expect temperatures ranging from 9°C to -3°C or 49°F to 27°F, so pack accordingly. Also, it may snow!

This is a what-ever-makes-you-feel-like-celebrating dress code. Wear something that you are comfortable in, that makes you feel awesome, and that inspires celebration!

STEP 7. SPREAD THE WORD
