Self-examination does not lead to life balance or acceptance from others – it leads to greater freedom & authenticity.
If we don’t enter into self-examination we tend to seek
comfort over greatness
safety over risk
reassurance over authenticity
the predictable over the unknown
the well-worn path over forging our own.
Jung said that neurosis is choosing inauthentic suffering over authentic suffering. That’s pretty much it.
Self-examination doesn’t mean that life is rosy all the time; it means that we are free to adventure into the rich jungle of our most authentic life.
Self-examination is a commitment to be in a conscious relationship with your soul.
